GippsDairy will hold its annual general meeting and dinner next week.
GippsDairy is the Gippsland based arm of Dairy Australia, delivering research, development and education to local dairy farms.
"While every year contains challenges, the local dairy sector has seen record prices and plenty of rain over the past 12 months," said GippsDairy executive officer Karen McLennan.
"The evening at the Traralgon Winery will include formal business and provide dairy farmers the opportunity to get together, catch up with friends and also hear from a great speaker on the night," she said.
The dinner guest speaker is Stuart Crosthwaite, a fifth-generation dairy farmer from Kergunyah South in North-East Victoria.
"Stuart will bring a range of experiences to share with the Gippsland audience," Karen said.
He has been active in industry development, was chair of the Alpine Valleys Dairy for 10 years and most recently formed Australia's newest dairy cooperative, the Mountain Milk Co-operative.
"This all at the same time as running a major dairy farm alongside his wife Sarah. Stuart also is a graduate of the 2019-2020 Australian Rural Leadership Program and will share some of that experience with our local dairy community," Karen said
The meeting and industry dinner will be held on October 18 at 6pm at the Traralgon Vineyard, 140 Burnets Rd, Traralgon.
