A small group of Fairview Village residents recently held an afternoon tea to raise funds for flood victims across Australia.
The group decided to donate money raised from the afternoon tea to the Warragul Lions Club, to forward into the Australian Lions Foundation flood victims appeal.
The afternoon tea and entertainment was enjoyed by everyone. Fairview resident Margaret Paulin, sang a couple of opera songs. Her son Tony, an accomplished pianist played the piano and shared his knowledge of music while his nine-year-old daughter Cyona played the violin and piano.
As well as taking donations at the door, there were raffles put together for prizes and a resident made craft items to sell.
There also were donations from residents in the independent living units.
The final tally was $1851.
Another $300 cheque was donated by members of the arthritis group that have been running an exercise program at the village for community members and residents.
