Dusties double up for decider

The Warragul Industrials women's reserves have fought their way through to the grand final, joining the seniors in next week's decider against Mornington after a hard-fought, come-from-behind victory over Karingal.
In what was a genuine preliminary final battle, Karingal matched the Dusties for intensity around the football for four quarters, with the Dusties only holding the lead for the final five minutes of the game to prevail 2.9 (21) to 2.3 (15).
When the pressure was at its greatest, it was the experience of Warragul Industrials' leaders that helped keep the team in the contest.
Carlee Maher, Jess Kemp and Melinda Lewis produced enormous pressure around the ball at crucial stages of the third quarter, refusing to let Karingal break the game open.
Jaz Middleton, Lily Baldwin, Emily Gibson, Natarsha Sanders and Zoe Allen continued to run hard both offensively and defensively for four quarters, helping ensure the backline wasn't placed under siege at crucial moments.
And then there was Charli Abbott. The four-quarter performance from the side's makeshift ruck needed to be seen to be believed.
Abbott battled all afternoon, competed relentlessly and gave the Dusties the platform they needed around the ground. Her best on ground performance was absolutely phenomenal, and the team can be incredibly grateful for her contribution.
This is a phenomenal achievement for a reserves side that has struggled to match the success of their senior teammates over the past five years.
To now have both the seniors and reserves representing the Dusties in grand finals is a reflection of the growth of women's football at Warragul Industrials.
The Dusties will now turn their attention to this Saturday, where both the reserves and seniors will play for premiership glory against Mornington at Frankston's Kinetic Stadium.
The reserves will begin at 12:30pm and the seniors at 3pm, with the club encouraging as many Gippslanders as possible to get down and cheer on Warragul Industrials.
