The Tetoora Road community has had another reason to celebrate in its year of centenary celebrations.
Local residents recently came together for the 100th anniversary of the first Christmas tree at Tetoora Road public hall.
The hall looked very festive with the tree, borrowed treasures in the form of Christmas decorations and new fairy lights purchased with funds from the community barbecue.
Santa arrived with a loud "Ho! Ho! Ho!", gave out presents with gusto and had lots of photos taken with children including the district's newest resident, a young baby and her parents as well as a photo with the hall committee.
Vanessa McDonald was Santa's helper for the night and eight-year-old Cohen was pianist for the night.
The event was not unlike the first Christmas tree event held in the hall, which was reported in The Gazette at the time as "a pronounced success in every way."
