Bunyip all but secured its spot in the Ellinbank District reserves top five, claiming victory over second-placed Ellinbank.

The 9-4 (58) to 6-1 (37) result gives the Bulldogs a three game and significant percentage buffer with four rounds to play.

Neerim-Neerim South hold onto hopes after comfortably accounting for Nilma-Darnum, 10-7 (67) to 3-6 (24).

Chris Urie kicked four goals for the Cats.

Other games saw the leading teams consolidate, with Buln Buln kicking away for a big win over Nyora.

John Stuckey kicked four goals in the 19-14 (128) to 1-3 (9) result.

Six goals to Mitch Brown and four majors to Paul Williams helped Longwarry account for Yarragon, 21-12 (138) to 0-1 (1).

Lang Lang continued its strong form with a big win over Poowong, 19-19 (133) to 2-2 (14).

William Claridge and Mitchell Smart each kicked five goals as Trafalgar kicked away from Catani, 21-9 (135) to 7-5 (47).

CLOSE results featured in the under 18s as fourth-placed Catani held off sixth-placed Trafalgar, 10-6 (66) to 10-4 (64).

Yarragon also held off a fast-finishing Longwarry, winning 6-5 (41) to 5-6 (36).
Poowong overcame a competitive Lang Lang, 6-7 (43) to 4-3 (27).

Ellinbank had an even spread of contributors in a big win over Bunyip, 21-9 (135) to 1-3 (9).

Captain Charlie Armour led the way with five goals.

Nilma-Darnum continued its charge with a big win over Neerim-Neerim South, 21-16 (142) to 0-5 (5).

THE top five all walked away with big wins in the under 16s.

The closest result came at Catani, where Trafalgar prevailed 14-9 (93) to 1-4 (10).

Coby Hoult booted five majors as Bunyip defeated Ellinbank, 22-12 (144) to 1-0 (6).
Nilma-Darnum comfortably accounted for Neerim-Neerim South, 13-30 (108) to 1-0 (6).
Buln Buln were ruthless over the Lang Lang-Nyora combine, piling on 26-20 (176) to no score.
