There was a huge buzz in the atmosphere at Chairo Drouin’s middle school recently when classrooms and playground areas were transformed into a plethora of stalls, selling everything from delicious culinary delights to pre-loved books and creative hand-made objects.
Everything was set for Middlefest 2014!
Year 5/6 students, in particular, had been planning their stalls for weeks as part of their business studies. The profits made from the night, an incredible $8000, will go to charity.
Grade 5 student Luke said, “it was really interesting to see the amazing, creative and artistic stalls all my friends had.”
Middlefest, which occurs every two years, is the culmination of plenty of planning and hard work by students in grades 5-8. The afternoon was a complete success.
Year 8 student Amanda summed up the event perfectly in saying, “it was great to see happy faces everywhere, and to see everyone having a good time”.
