Young guns Power to victory

A number of future footy stars celebrated the ultimate success on Saturday as Gippsland Power claimed their second ever Talent League premiership.
The Power proved far too strong for Dandenong Stingrays in the grand final, surging ahead in the second half to claim the cup with a 16.10 (106) to 10.11 (71) victory at Whitten Oval.
Captain and Warragul Industrials star Cody Templeton played a career best game in the win, booting five goals from 19 disposals.
Bairnsdale's Wil Malady was also among the scoring thanks to five goals of his own.
It's the Power's first flag since 2005 and was an impressive effort all around as the Gippy boys slammed home 12 goals to five past half time.
That team contained a number of names who would go on to great things in the big leagues, namely Scott Pendlebury, Dale Thomas, Tyson Goldsack and Xavier Ellis.
Ironically, it was Pendlebury's own brother Kris in the senior coaching role this year and leading the Power to their drought-breaking season.
Maffra product Judd Burgiel was effective through the midfield with 29 disposals while Warragul forward and draft hopeful Keenan Boi kicked two goals.
