Warriors fight on

The Warragul Warriors have won their way through to a Big V semi final in front of the biggest crowd in club history on Saturday night.
Close to 500 fans packed the stands at the Warragul Leisure Centre and roared the Division Two Men's side to an 85-70 win over Southern Peninsula in a home elimination final.
The Warriors set the tone early, powering to a 26-14 opening quarter that gave them a lead they would not surrender.
Southern Peninsula answered in the second to close the gap, but Warragul steadied through a tight third and then slammed the door with a commanding 25-point final term to lock up a well-deserved win.
Breyton Buysman was a colossus, dominating the paint for 26 points and 13 rebounds in a towering double-double.
Captain Jordan Gooiker was superb alongside him with 21 points, and Murray Myers provided a huge spark with 17 points and five assists off the bench.
It was a disciplined, team-first performance - Warragul shot better than 50 per cent from the field and shared the ball for 27 assists.
With the crowd at full strength for Warragul's first Big V final, the Warragul Leisure Centre was loud, packed and electric from tip-off to final siren.
The home crowd was a genuine factor, lifting the Warriors through every contested moment. The club extended a heartfelt thank you to every supporter who came through the doors and made it a night to remember.
The win lifts Warragul into a Big V Division Two Men semi-final, where the Warriors are set to meet minor premiers Sherbrooke.
