YMCA gains new stadium contract

The task of operating the new $11 million stadium in Warragul will be given to the YMCA.
Ahead of its opening set for July, Baw Baw Shire councillors endorsed a variation to its existing aquatic and leisure services contract with YMCA Victoria.
This will add forecast costs of $416,817 to operate the two-court stadium at Warragul Leisure Centre through to mid-2026.
An officer report said the amount would cover all utilities, staff wages and cafe expenses to operate the stadium from 4pm to 10pm on weekdays and 8.45am to 5.15pm on weekends.
It also factors in user fees and extra hours needed on hot days for outdoor pool activities or for facility hire and events.
