Trafalgar well represented on Australian polocrosse stage

Trafalgar polocrosse players will have a strong presence in Victorian teams at the National Polocrosse Championships in Ballarat this week.
The biennial national championships begins this afternoon and will continue with finals in all divisions on Saturday and Sunday.
Today's opening ceremony and grand parade also features members of Victoria's first national men's title team, commemorated on the 50th anniversary of the team's win against New South Wales in 1972. The team included former Trafalgar players Alec Templeton (deceased) and Ron Jolly and Darryl Blackshaw who are a part of the grand parade procession.
Twelve Trafalgar Polocrosse Club players were selected in Victorian teams from under 12s through to masters.
The youngest club members include under 12s players Jake Jolly, Klancy Heeremans, Lenny McMahon and Jaxon Templeton, in a team to be coached by Trafalgar member Cameron Templeton.
Cody Templeton will play in the Victorian under 16 mixed team while Ryan Dyke and Angus Templeton were selected in the under 21s team.
In the Victorian women's team, Trafalgar players include Katie Martin, Taylor Radford and Kim Templeton, while the men's team includes Dan Puglia. Mick Templeton will play in the Victorian masters team.
Annette, Blake and Toby Radford, all of Trafalgar and Ballan club members, will play for Victoria in the open mixed and under 16 mixed competitions respectively.
The Polocrosse Victoria hosted championships was scheduled to be held at Ballarat in March 2020 when Australia was plunged into COVID restrictions. The event was initially rescheduled to October 2020 but was cancelled due to interstate border uncertainty and ongoing restrictions.
