Tight contest in double draw

What a battle!

This match had it all and was a fitting finale to a fantastic season of netball.

Drouin got off to an excellent start, using the momentum gained from B grade's win to their advantage.

Stacie Gardiner looked right at home back in the goal circle in the absence of Mwai Kumwenda, shooting accurately under pressure, giving Drouin a three goal lead at the first break.
Moe put the foot down in the second quarter, piling on 21 goals to Drouin's 10; ominous signs for the Hawks.
Drouin were able to regroup in the third quarter with the injection of B grade's best on court, Sarah Roughead at goal defence. The Hawks reduced the margin to just one goal by three quarter time and it was game on.
The final quarter was fiercely competitive with nothing separating the two teams as they went goal for goal.
At the end of full time, scores were level, sending the game into extra time.
With players exhausted in the heat, the game was drawn again so play continued for another few minutes until Drouin gained a two goal lead.
Young star Charlize Traumanis remained composed under enormous pressure to keep Drouin's score ticking over in the final minutes and to slot the winning goal.
It was a determined team effort that resulted in a premiership for Drouin, breaking a nine-year drought.
The defence end had a tough ask but remained patient and made the most of their opportunities. Midcourt players were able to treasure possession when it counted and were able to adapt to the changes made by the mastermind coaching team.
Every player, on the court or bench, from both teams should be extremely proud of their efforts, especially injured defender Ebony Mumford, who was inspirational on the sidelines for her teammates.
