Lockdown forced the Hallora Marathon to be postponed.

The event, which was set to take place last Sunday, was ready to run before Victoria was sent into lockdown.

The new date for the event is Sunday, December 12.

Despite the disappointment, it didn’t stop runners supporting the event, with donations still coming in after the postponement.

Photos came flooding in of runners taking to the roads on Sunday, using their two hours of exercise to complete the event virtually.

Marathon organiser Daniel Pratt said it was heart-warming and uplifting to see.

“It was definitely deflating when the news broke, but for mental health and fundraising for Peter Mac, so many people stuck to their guns and completed their distance within the COVID rules.

After the raffle on Thursday, over $3500 has been raised for the Peter Mac Cancer Research Centre, with Mr Pratt praising those continued to support the event.

“It’s been a great insight into how supportive and generous our community is,” he said.
