Another stress to worry about - nappies
1 min read

There are already plenty of financial stresses - rising mortgages, rentals and the cost of putting food on the table - and parents of babies and toddlers can add another.
Nappy stress.
State Member for Eastern Victoria Melina Bath has opened her electorate office at Traralgon as a collection centre for people to leave unused, spare or donated nappies after new research showed one in 10 families were struggling to afford nappies for their babies and toddlers.
Ms Bath said not-for-profit Nappy Collective redistributes the donated nappies to families and those collected at her office would be distributed to charities in eastern Victoria that help local families in need.
She said nappy stress was worsening as cost of living continues to rise in Victoria.
"A week's supply of nappies can add $50 to household budgets with newborn babies needing up to 12 nappies a day and toddlers six to eight".
Often families have leftover sizes that there baby or toddler has grown out of and donating them is a wonderful way to help and to clean out the cupboard, Ms Bath said.
Nappy donations can be dropped at her office at 181 Franklin St, Traralgon, during business hours from Mondays to Fridays and people considering making large donations could contact the office on 5174 7066.
