Gippsland Strikers, formerly Gippsland Bulls Hockey Club, played against Bayside last week in an intense game.
Bayside scored two quick goals in the early minutes finding Strikers women unprepared in the round four match at Drouin.
Strikers retaliated with Bec Cheater putting one in for strikers soon after. In icy 11 degree rain, subs occurred fast and we had three to cycle through. Players were coming off saying they couldn't feel their fingers.
Strong play continued by the two teams until late in the fourth quarter when Bayside hit their third goal.
It was looking like a sure win for Bayside with only 10 minutes left on the clock.
However Strikers rallied, achieved a penalty corner and managed to convert — a second goal by Cheater bringing the score to 3-2.
With one minute on the clock, Strikers turned on amazing exemplary effort and hit another goal within seconds of full time. A draw of 3-3 was greeted with excitement by the Strikers crew.
