Mix of premiers in MGBA

Labertouche took out the section one premiership in Mid Gippsland Badminton Association grand finals played recently.

Section 1: Labertouche 4/283 defeated Warragul Red 2/274
Section 2: Drouin Maroon 5/269 defeated Drouin Gold 1/239
Section 3: Ellinbank Blue 4/260 defeated Warragul Red 2/231
Section 4: Ellinbank Gold 4/274 defeated Drouin Gold 2/240
Section four Ellinbank Gold and Drouin Gold jostled for top position on the ladder all season.
In the second semi final Drouin defeated Ellinbank by 6 aces and earned the week off. Ellinbank Gold defeated Ellinbank Blue in the preliminary final and won the right to play Drouin Gold in the grand final.
The grand final was close until the last doubles with Ellinbank Gold ending to strong for Drouin Gold.
Ellinbank's Doug Earwicker and Kirstyn Pratt lost to Drouin's David Lardner and Keith Wilkinson 21/14, 20/21, 16/21.
Ellinbank's Ros Felstead and Bronwyn Pearson defeated Drouin's Sandra Bell and Karen Herbert 21/18, 21/19.
Ellinbank's Doug and Ros defeated David and Sandra 21/20,21/19.
Ellinbank's Kirstyn and Bronwyn defeated Keith and Karen 21/15, 19/21, 21/15.
Ellinbank's Doug and Bronwyn defeated David and Karen 21/6, 21/9.
Ellinbanks Kirstyn and Ros lost to Keith and Sandra 14/21, 16/21.
It was great to play a full season including finals after the disruption of the past two years.
