After a slow start, Longwarry overcame a strong opposition to win by 10 shots and take second spot on the ladder with three games remaining.
Division two: Longwarry defeated Newborough 103/93
Elio Meggetto, Barry White, Russell White and Ken White (skip) lost to Graham Cox's team 17/23.
Newborough took the lead early in this match. Longwarry fought back well to get the scores level even by the break. Newborough picked up seven shots in two ends from end 22 to set up their five-shot win.
Peter "Cougar" Lieshout, Glenn Pask, Ian Peterson and Adam Proctor (skip) lost to Joan Goldie's team 21/24.
This rink was a close contest all day, with seven lead changes. Newborough was the team in front at the end of the game, winning by three shots.
Jason Lieshout, Simon Counsel, Grant Pask and Kenneth Towt (skip) defeated Garry Peterson's team 40/25.
Newborough adjusted to the blustery conditions better and had a six-shot lead by end eight. Longwarry started playing some great team bowls and picked up 24 shots in nine ends to really hurt Newborough and set up the 15-shot win.

Longwarry was in trouble early after dropping a six on the first end. But they turned it around and, by the break, had a four-shot lead. The rest of the game was close, but Longwarry held on to win by four shots.
