Plans are well underway for the celebrations of the centenary of the Tetoora Road Hall.
Members of the Tetoora Road Community Centre asset committee have been meeting regularly to organise the event.
The centenary celebrations will be held on October 15 and 16.
The celebrations will begin on Saturday, October 15 with a traditional back-to from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
There will be special speeches and a highlight of the day will be unveiling of a plaque to the guarantors of the Tetoora Road Public Hall finances in 1922.
A special video of current and former residents, funded by the Public Records Office Victoria, also will be launched.
Afternoon tea will be provided free of charge.
Sunday will feature a family day which will feature entertainment with face painters, a mobile farm and food vans.
Organisers would appreciate people car pooling because of limited parking.
Asset committee chairman Ann Bullen said more details about the event would be available next month.
We are looking forward to meeting old and new friends associated with the Tetoora Road Public Hall, which at this time, 100 years ago, must have been almost finished, as a month later the committee was arranging to buy iron frames for the pews. These are the pews which are in the hall today," she said.
