Fifteen players contested the Drouin Croquet Club's recent golf croquet club championship.
Defending title holder Nannette Fry won the championship against club secretary Helen Bolton, with Nannette also reducing her handicap from 10 to nine during the event.
There were two divisions, and level play was the order of the weekend, except for the final which was handicap play. The winners of each division then played off for the championship shield.
In division two, Nannette Fry and Ray Biffin were level on games won, at five each, with Nannette winning by the smallest of margins 18-17.
Division one (hcp -3 to 6): no contest.
Division two (hcp 7-11): winner Nannette Fry 5W 1L 41-23 +18, runner-up Ray Biffin 5W 1L 41-24 +17.
Division three (hcps 12-14): winner Helen Bolton 6W 1L 46-32 +14, runner-up: Trish Turner 5W 2L 41-30 +11.
Final: Nannette Fry seven hoops defeated Helen Bolton five hoops.
The final was a thriller, with Nannette taking the title by making two excellent jump shots over a ball in the jaws of two hoops.
Four members had handicap changes during the championship:
Ray Biffin from 10 hcp down to nine as did Nannette Fry. Lyn Knight and Michael Scanlon both went out from 14 to 16.
Club president Marlene Scanlon presented the championship trophy and badge to Nannette Fry at the conclusion of the game and congratulated her on defending her title.
