Finals hopes on the line

Round 16 saw Nyora at home for the final time this season, taking on Nilma Darnum. And, with finals hopes on the line for both sides, it was a fiercely contested match.

Nilma Darnum had a great start and led by four at the quarter time break. But Nyora fought back to draw level at the major break.

The second half saw the score going goal for goal in a match that was tight until the end.

Despite being one goal down heading into the last quarter, Nilma Darnum shot four consecutive goals to take the lead. Nyora answered with three and it was even again.

The Bombers pushed the lead out to three once again before a late answer by Nyora to make for a one goal thriller with the visitors taking the win, 43-42.
It was another close game between Bunyip and Poowong with the home team prevailing by two at the final siren.
Both teams were eager from the first whistle, with plenty of turnovers, pressure and quick passing.
Poowong seemed to take the lead, converting on the scoreboard.

In a round of margins of less than five goals, fourth placed Buln Buln did not given in to second placed Longwarry, with a final quarter blitz by goaler Myah Healey reducing the final difference to just four goals.
The first half of the game was close and competitive, with Longwarry up by three goals at both the quarter and half time breaks.
Longwarry pulled away later in the third quarter and got a run on, extending their lead to 10 goals by the final change.
Buln came out after the third quarter break very strong, pulling the score line back to within a couple of goals. But Longwarry remained composed and kept their lead, winning by four goals.
