Spending time in the garden has provided a relief for many people during COVID and even more so when the time is shared with others.

The Warragul Community Garden located near Eastern Park has been a great outlook for many local residents.

Health promotion officer at West Gippsland Healthcare Group Angela Greenhill said being outdoors, mindful and physically active helps offset some of the symptoms of depression and anxiety.

At the community garden members meet up each Tuesday morning and involve themselves in gardening tasks.

Those that have done very little gardening in the past need not worry; there are experienced gardeners there to give a welcome and guidance.

The concept of the community garden is to grow, harvest and share healthy food and the Warragul garden is a peaceful spot for people of all ages, including children, with its shady seating.

The garden can be accessed off Cambridge Drive at the rear of Warragul Community House.
