Police have linked two BP service station burglaries that occurred in Trafalgar and Traralgon earlier in the month.
On Saturday, July 9 at 11pm a male wearing dark coloured clothing jimmied open the front door of the Traralgon BP service station to gain access to the premises.
Police said the man then jumped the counter at the front desk, opened the cigarette cupboard and almost completely cleaned out the store's cigarette stocks before fleeing the scene.
The next night at about 10.55pm a male attended at the BP service station in Trafalgar. Police said he forced opened the front door using the same method that was used the night before at the Traralgon service station.
Police said it appeared the man placed a milk crate between the doors to stop them from closing.
Police said the man filled a grey duffle bag with cigarettes before leaving the store.
Anyone with information on either of the two incidents can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
