New cricket nets at Catani are officially opened in a welcome boost before local cricket finals.
The new nets include a four-lane enclosed cricket facility, with black powder coating PVC mesh fence and multipurpose four-bay synthetic wickets.
The improved facilities at the Catani Recreation Reserve gained $92,000 funding from Cardinia Shire Council and $90,000 from the state government as part of its community cricket program.
Catani Cricket Club are part of the Warragul and District Cricket Association and are currently in the top four teams in division one and division three.
Cardinia Shire mayor Tammy Radford and Westernport Ward councillor Kaye Cameron officially opened the nets with Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale and representatives of the Catani sporting community.
