Gippslanders are being encouraged to donate textile labels and tags in the name of art.
Sale-based textile artist Annemieke Mein, incorporates recycled materials into her art and is currently calling on people to send in their labels and tags, which she will use in her upcoming works.
Ms Mein uses the labels to express shape colour and design in her pieces. The labels are 'graded' in size and colour to aid and delineate each creation.
Any tags are welcome, no matter their size, colour, and shape. They can be taken from any number of items, including clothing, linen, business ties, bags, blankets and ribbons.
Ms Mein is known for works depicting native Australian species and Gippsland Art Gallery has been displaying the local artist's works for more than four years, in a dedicated space called 'The Art of Annemieke Mein'.
Anyone wishing to contribute can send them in the post (P.O. Box 1444 Sale VIC 3850) or drop by the Port Of Sale information desk with donations.
