Applications open for sponsorship program

Applications have opened for the first round of the Baw Baw Shire Council's Community Sponsorship Program.
Individuals and not-for-profit community groups are being invited to apply for the funding, which is for activities that support vibrant social and community outcomes.
The program aims to support the delivery of community events and support individuals or groups competing in or attending an event to become ambassadors for our region whilst representing the Shire.
This is the first round for funding, the second found will open in March 2023.
Last year there were 31 recipients, including Aberfeldy Cemetery Trust and the West Gippsland Hockey Association.
Up to $5,000 is available for not-for-profit groups or businesses to deliver events, such as youth events and programs, one-off events, and new and existing events.
For individual ambassadors up to $500 is available, and for groups and teams, up to $1,500 is available. Ths funding is for people and groups based in Baw Baw Shire and competing in or attending an event representing the region.
Funding applications must contribute to a positive community and social outcomes, create stronger connections within the community, celebrate different ages and cultures, recognise an opportunity to create connections and/or commemorate a significant event.
Applicants must be not-for-profit, have a legal status and ensure their project will be delivered within Baw Baw Shire's boundaries.
