After 27 years presenters of the "Turn Up Your Radio" program on community radio station 3BBR signed off last Thursday night.
Tim Hannan, of Beaconsfield, and Harvey Scott, who lives at Nilma, first met at primary school and got together to present the program every second Thursday, beginning in the first year the station opened.
Their program featured music by Australian artists and last Thursday featured a tribute to the music and songs of Australians that have died since they started their broadcasts.
Their switching the "off air" switch may have been prompted by Tim's plans for some overseas travel that had been deferred for two years and Harvey said it felt the right time to wind up although not totally discounting he could "never say never" to the pair eventually returning on air.
Harvey won't be lost from the airwaves of 3BBR.
He and Paul Strickland present a program "Gippsland Live" fortnightly on Wednesday where they play recordings they've made of musicians from the region.
Tim will remain a member of the 3BBR community and after holidaying may be available for some casual shifts as a presenter.
3BBR broadcasts from its studio in Drouin 24 hours a day on FM frequency 103.1 and can be heard over an area extending from Pakenham to Moe and to Mount Baw Baw.
