So much was expected of the 2023 Mid Gippsland grand final between Newborough and Fish Creek, with both sides impressive leading into the "big dance".
The Bulldogs had been unbeaten but the Kangaroos had got within a kick just a fortnight prior.
The weather was near perfect and the Morwell East ground excellent. Unfortunately for Newborough, that's where it stopped as the premiership favourites were not able to get themselves in the game at any time.
Fish Creek claimed the premiership with the scoreboard reading 9.12-66 to 5.8-38.

Newborough coach Craig Skinner said his team were simply beaten.
