Thorpdale registered a sixth win on Saturday to sit just outside the top six in Mid Gippsland football.

This was always going to be more than a match for premiership points - it was a fight for finals.
The Blues eventually clawed their way to a 12.11-83 to 11.6-72 win.
Thorpdale coach Jason Winderlich said it was a good effort by the boys in extremely heavy conditions.
"We had a very dominant first half, which set the game up," Winderlich said. "MDU then dominated the next 45 minutes to take the lead."
"We were able to start winning the ball around the contest late and kick the final three goals, which was pleasing," he added.

MDU coach Nathan Allen said Thorpdale outmuscled his team early.
"
