Pickleball kicks off
Warragul's pickleball players were keen to hit the court on Thursday night.

The Warragul Indoor Pickleball summer competition officially kicked off on Thursday night.

Played at the Warragul Badminton Stadium and after the success of the spring competition last year, eight teams entered for an eight week summer competition.
The Warragul Indoor Pickleball group would like to welcome a new team from Drouin into the competition. The group also would like to welcome their players from Pakenham that are playing in teams and as well the players from Traralgon who have also joined teams for the summer competition.
The night began at 6pm with the first four teams going to battle. Scores seemed one sided but that certainly didn't show the intensity of the play.
The second four teams began playing at 8pm and once again some very hard-fought games were played.
Match of the night went to Pickle Power. With a maximum winning score of 132 points possible, Pickle Power managed to win 130 points for the night.
Results:
Pickle Power def. Sanctuary Sluggers 10/130 to 2/85.
Day Dinkers def. Kitchen Dinks 9/108 to 3/73.
Dink A Head def. Spin Masters 10/119 to 2/74.
Pickle Legends def. Pickles Please 7/109 to 5/81.
As well as competition play, Warragul Indoor Pickleball holds social hitting at the Warragul Badminton Stadium.
Anyone is welcome, whether you have played before or not. Social hitting is on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
Equipment is provided; the group only ask that you wear a good pair of court shoes. Times are on the Facebook page Warragul Pickleball and played at the Warragul Badminton Stadium, Galloway St, Warragul.
Further information can also be obtained from Jean Nielsen 0409595896, Chris Higgs 0474255001 or Shane Morgan 0407343995.
Come along and join the fun.
