No gym after Tatts win of $1.5 million

A West Gippsland man abandoned plans to go to the gym and cracked a beer instead after being told he had won $1.5 million in Tattslotto yesterday morning.

The thrilled winner begins the new year as a millionaire after collecting $1,578,947.37.

When an official from The Lott called him this morning, he was oblivious to his windfall.

“Thank you!” he managed eventually. “I’m walking around in circles. I can’t believe what you’re telling me. Things like this just don’t happen to people like me. Bloody hell.”

The man said he had just got dressed to head to the gym but would give that a miss and have a beer instead to celebrate.

“This is massive. It is life-changing in a very big way,” he said.

The anonymous winner, who purchased the winning ticket online, said he planned to help a few people out.

“I am always so careful with my money. I always have to budget but this will change my life completely. The rest of my life will be so much easier,” he said.
