Warragul and District Netball Association's NetSetGo program has been named the 2026 Woolworths NetSetGo Centre of the Year, recognising the program's outstanding growth and commitment to introducing young players to netball.
Warragul and District Netball Association's NetSetGo program has been named the 2026 Woolworths NetSetGo Centre of the Year, recognising the program's outstanding growth and commitment to introducing young players to netball.
The program has achieved more than 124 per cent growth, reflecting the increasing interest in junior netball and the dedication of the volunteers and coaches who make each session possible.
NetSetGo coordinator Meaghan Romano said she was incredibly proud of what the program had achieved and excited about its future.
"We couldn't do this without the support of our committee, families, players and coaches. I'm so proud of what we have achieved together and excited for what's to come," she said.
WDNA president Karen Romano said the award represented much more than participation numbers.
"This award represents something much bigger than participation numbers. It represents what is possible when we invest in young people, particularly our own people and give them the opportunity to lead.
"Meaghan is a wonderful example of this. She has embraced the opportunity to lead our NetSetGo program with enthusiasm, determination and a genuine commitment to leadership."
Netball Victoria Eastern Region Manager Judi Buhagiar congratulated the association on its achievement.
"Congratulations to the association, who not only invest in building young people's confidence on the court, but off the court too," Judi said.
With 57 players registered for the current summer season, WDNA's NetSetGo program continues to provide a welcoming environment for children to learn new skills, build confidence and develop friendships through netball.
The award was a significant milestone for the association and recognises the collective efforts of everyone involved in creating opportunities for young players to get involved in the sport.
WDNA officials said they were looking forward to continuing to grow the program and supporting the next generation of netballers in the Warragul and District community.
