Matisse wins Gazette readers' photography competition

Matisse Debnam has taken out The Gazette's 2022 Readers' Photographic Competition.
Matisse's striking entry "Australian Honey Fungus" was one of 184 photographs entered.
In second place was Kerrie Matthews' creative "Pop Corn" whilst the stunning "Ella Magic" from Beth McKeown was awarded third.
Highly commended went to Holly Anderson's "Clifton Pier", Joy Charlton's "Mission Moonlight" and Alice Anderson's "Sacred Locals".
All entries were displayed at the 49th Warragul National Photographic Exhibition at the West Gippsland Arts Centre over the weekend.
Attracted a high calibre of entries, this year's competition saw a big increase of entries from last year's 134 photos.
Local scenery, sunrises, people, pets and holiday locations formed the inspiration for many local budding photographers.
