Lyrebird residents donate to food relief

Baw Baw Food Relief (BBFR) volunteers were recently contacted by staff from Lyrebird Village Aged Care in Drouin informing them residents wanted to make a contribution.
The residents wanted to collect food items for the Food Relief, to be donated and shared to those who most needed it in the community.
The Lyrebird residents spent the last few months gathering food to donate.
One of the conditions from the residents was they wanted to deliver the food in person to BBFR and see how the food would be distributed, while finding out a bit more about the people it would go to.
The residents did just that and were grateful to find out how their contribution would make a difference in helping volunteers at BBFR to 'Feed the Need.'
"We were delighted to receive 50 kgs of non-perishable food for families in our community facing ongoing food insecurity," said BBFR community relations co-ordinator Mark Cleeman.
"We thank the beautiful residents at Lyrebird Village in Drouin for their very kind donations and thoughtfulness. You all have beautiful hearts".
