Two men will face court on drug related offences after being intercepted in Warragul on the same night.
One man was found asleep inside a stolen vehicle in Lawson Cres and the second man was intercepted as he walked on Sutton St, both on Wednesday, October 23.
In the first incident, police said the vehicle - fitted with false Queensland registration plates - had been reported stolen during an aggravated burglary in Bayswater at 2am.
They said the man from Kurrajong in New South Wales was found asleep at about 4am.
A vehicle search was conducted, with police allegedly locating speed, diazepam, several sets of stolen and false vehicle registration plates, drug paraphernalia, a gun shaped lighter and counterfeit notes.
The vehicle was later linked to an aggravated burglary in Bayswater where the house was entered via an unlocked front door. The car keys were taken from a hallway table.
The man was arrested, charged and bailed.
In the second incident, police intercepted a Warragul man acting nervously in Sutton St.
When police searched the backpack he was carrying, police allege the 45-year-old unsuccessfully attempted to grab it back before running away.
Police allege the backpack contained drugs and weapons including cannabis, liquid ecstasy, a crystallised substance, a modified torch believed to be an improvised firearm, a meat cleaver attached to an aluminium pole, a set of nunchucks, a multi-tool edged weapon, and a padlock tied to the end of a bandanna.
Police said the man attended the Warragul police station a few hours later to report a stolen backpack and was arrested.
He was charged and bailed to appear in Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, December 4.
