A high tea in Labertouche on Saturday will raise money for Red Nose Australia.

Hosted by the Labertouche Blue Wrens CWA, the special afternoon will provide a delicious afternoon tea as well as prizes and surprises.

Handmade jewellery will be on display and available for sale.

The afternoon of fun, friendship and fundraising was inspired by a special friend of the CWA group whose grandchild died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Labertouche Blue Wrens secretary Judith Davies a few months ago a local woman offered to gift to the group jars she had been collecting so members could make homemade jam.

She said when they attended at her house, they saw a beautiful collection of homemade jewellery.

The woman's grandson had died of SIDS at seven weeks old. The woman found making jewellery and donating the money to SIDS had helped with her grief.

The CWA group decided to host the high tea to raise money for Red Nose Australia and help sell some of the jewellery.

Cost is $17 and if you wear red, you will receive a $2 discount on your entry.

The high tea will be held from 1pm at the Labertouche Community Centre at 440 Labertouche Rd. Bookings are essential on 0408 367808 or 1st.labertouchebluewrenscwavic@gmail.com
