The Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund assistance to families affected by disasters has topped $19 million.
At its annual meeting recently that marked 44 years since the fund was formed, president Andy Tegart said the money had helped more than 5500 families and businesses in Gippsland.
The emergency financial assistance has been provided to those impacted by fires, floods and storms.
Mr Tegart said the registered charity run by local volunteers would continue its commitment and had strengthened its engagement with potential donors and adopted new technology to ensure funds are distributed quickly and effectively.
He thanked all businesses, corporate organisations and individuals that continued to donate generously.
Attendance at the annual meeting included representatives from all local government councils in Gippsland that provide the referrals for GERF emergency grants.
