Tigers send Eagles crashing

Lang Lang's premiership defence in the reserves remains alive, comfortably accounting for Ellinbank 7-4 (46) to 2-6 (18) in a severely shortened preliminary final.
A delay to proceedings following player injury in the under 18s saw the match begin with quarters shortened to 18-minutes.
Nathan Perkins put through the first for the Tigers from in front, before Lachie Spinks made front position for a strong mark to find the answer for the Eagles.
Perkins was on early, putting through a nice set shot from the flank before also converting from the other side to open a 12-point buffer at the first change.
A torrid start to the second quarter ensued as rain began to fall, before players were sent from the field at the eight-minute mark after a flash of lightning.
Two further strikes delayed proceedings. The match resumed at 1.50pm, playing out the final 10-minutes of the second term before closing with two 12-minute quarters with a quick break in between.
Tadhg O'Riordan got into the act to mark and goal to close out the second term.
He added the first of the third term with a good mark in front, before Perkins converted from the lead.
The pair would finish with all seven goals between them, with O'Riordan extending the lead to 36-points late in the third term.
Perkins, Geordie Wells, Joseph Dalgleish, Rhyce Harvie, Luke Glassborow and Sam Kendell led the Tigers' bid for another grand final appearance.
Tim Mashado, Shaun Phelan, Joey Conley, Andrew Quirk, Spinks and Keaton Brown continued to push for Ellinbank, who put through a goal from the square to finish the third term.
Both sides struggled through the final 12-minutes with the result all but a fait accompli.
