Victoria has hit another coronavirus vaccination milestone this week.
As of Wednesday, two-thirds of people in the state aged 16 and over have received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, and more than 58 per cent of children aged 5 to 11 have had at least one dose.
It has been seven months since the third dose became available.
The Victorian Government reports that the third dose uptake has been slower in younger Victorians - who were not immediately eligible for the third dose. However, there has been a high uptake in older Victorians. More than 90 per cent of those over 70 have had their third dose and more than 85 per cent of people in their 60s.
Health Minister Martin Foley encouraged people to come forward and get their third dose if they have not yet received it.
"Everyone who got themselves protected has contributed to the successful opening up of our state and the health and wellbeing of everyone in it," he said.
"If you haven't yet had your third dose, now is the time ahead of winter – don't leave it too late to get yourself the best protection."
In the Baw Baw Shire, as of April 13, three postcodes had surpassed 70 per cent of those eligible 12 years and over having received their third dose.
Postcode 3831 (Neerim East, Neerim South, Neerim) had reached 75 to 80 per cent, while 3820 (Warragul, Bonavista, Lilico, and Nilma North ) sat at 70 and 75 per cent, as did 3823 (Yarragon, Yarragon South, Allambee and Trida).
Two postcodes were recorded as having reached third dose vaccination status for 65 to 70 per cent, 3835 (Thorpdale, Delburn, Mirboo North, and Allambee South) and 3833 (Baw Baw, Gentle Annie, Toorongo, Noojee, and Tanjil Bren).
A few had reached 60 to 65 per cent: 3818 (Jindivick, Drouin, Drouin south, Ripplebrook, and Athlone), 3824 (Trafalgar, Trafalgar South, Narracan Trafalgar East, and Childers), and 3825 (Toombon, Tanjil, Jericho, Thompson, Moondarra).
Others reported 50 to 55 per cent third dose vaccination, 3822 (Darnum, Cloverlea, and Gainsborough), 3821 (Shady Creek, Seaview, Nilma North, Warragul South, Buln Buln), and 3816 (Labertouche, Longwarry, Modella, Longwarry North)
Finally, 3832 (Neerim North, Neerim Junction, Nayook) had reached 40 to 45 per cent third dose by April 13.
