The creation of a residents’ art gallery at Fairview Homes for the Aged at Warragul has unearthed plenty of artistic talent.
The gallery was made possible by a successful application for a Baw Baw Shire council community development grant.
The funding enabled an art gallery space to be built that enables residents’ artwork to be displayed in a professional way.
Lifestyle manager at Fairview Maddie Jones said that in addition to celebrating the residents works of art the gallery provides meaningful engagement for residents and a sense of purpose and achievement.
Ms Jones said former staff members Maria Rodda and Lois Tarrant devoted considerable time and passion into the application to council for the funding.
