Chisholm House was the recent victor of the annual House Music competition held at St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School.
The event was approached with impressive enthusiasm from all students, with each house performing a whole house group song, as well as a specialist ensemble song.
With their whole group rendition of ‘Lazy Song’ members of Chisholm chose to dress up in pajamas and casual attire whereas the house’s specialist group who sang ‘Work Song’ chose to dress more formally.
Runner up was Monash House who used flashcards and dance moves in their rendition of ‘Uptown Funk.’
Third was Gilmore with their version of ‘Mambo Number Five’ accompanied with a dance routine, fourth was Paterson with a rendition of ‘Are you gonna be my girl?’ that comprised of Kellie Wilson and Justin Morrow taking lead roles of the pseudo-Grease staging of the song.
Franklin came fifth with their performance of ‘I’m a believer’ that featured Chris Panayiotou as a dancing Shrek and Lalor came sixth with their song ‘ABC.’
The other specialist ensembles performed songs such as ‘If I ain’t got you’ (Paterson), ‘I wanna dance with somebody’ (Gilmore), ‘Love Song’ (Lalor) ‘Zoot Suit Riot’ (Monash) and ‘Somebody that I used to know’ (Franklin).
