Students capture Australian life

A number of Warragul Regional College students entered The Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize, a national competition that awards and promotes Australian contemporary photography.

The Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize invited photographic entries that interpreted ‘Contemporary Life in Australia’ with an emphasis on day-to-day life.

Many year eight, 10, 11, and 12 photography students at Warragul Regional College entered in the schools section of the competition that attracted more than 4000 entries from schools Australia wide.

Five students were semi finalists in their age groups. Amie Wadsworth and Mieke Polman-Short of year 12 and Rachael Lyons, Maddison McDonald and Lily Whelan from year eight were also semi finalists.

Year eight student Kayla Steward had her image short listed as a finalist in the top 24 photographs in her age group. Kayla’s photograph will be displayed at the Moran Prizes Exhibition at Juniper Hall, 250 Oxford Street, Paddington in New South Wales until Sunday, February 15 next year.
