Signs of life in Gulls thumping

It's strange to call a loss in excess of 100 points 'spirited.'

But that's just what onlookers at Western Park saw on Saturday as Warragul dug in for a crack at the flag favourites.
But when it comes to playing Wonthaggi, you need a lot more than spirit.
Despite the Gulls' efforts, they simply couldn't penetrate the Power defence and were ultimately well outclassed by a team with premiership aspirations, going down 3.1 (19) to 20.11 (131).
The gulf between the 22 Warragul put out on the field and the 22 their opponents can muster is sizeable. Nobody disputes that, and as such the result and the size of the margin won't come as a surprise to many.
But for Warragul, who are now limping to the end of the season in both the figurative and literal sense, it's about little wins.
