Hawks fall short in Ablett homecoming

A one-off performance from Gary Ablett Jr wasn't enough to get the Brayakaloong Hawks over the line as they fell short of an incredible comeback against Morwell, going down 9.13 (67) to 11.10 (73).
The Hawks took up the Brayakaloong moniker for the day as part of their Indigenous Round celebrations, which also included wearing a specially designed guernseys and a pre-game smoking ceremony.
After trailing by as much as 42 points partway through the third quarter a win appeared unlikely but the Hawks, as they have done on numerous occasions this year, refused to give up the fight, reducing the margin to just three points with minutes remaining on the clock.
