Trains are not running on the Gippsland line again until Sunday, December 11.
Instead, people planning to travel by public transport between Gippsland and Melbourne for work, some pre-Christmas shopping or to catch-up with family or friends leading into the festive season will need to catch replacement road coaches.
Timetables for coaches are now available on V/Line's website with travellers recommended to allow up to an extra one hour for the times their trips will take.
Trains have not been running since last Friday.
The latest closure comes on the back of several weeks when most evening train services were replaced by road coaches.
The replacement coaches over the next couple of weeks will not stop at stations between Pakenham and Southern Cross.
People wanting to travel to stations between Pakenham and the city will need to catch Metro trains from Southern Cross or Pakenham.
On-and-off train travel has been a regular occurrence on the Gippsland line for many years while major upgrades are made to rail network, mainly in the metropolitan area but V/Line said the current use of buses was due to maintenance and infrastructure works on the Gippsland line.
