Biggest morning tea at community garden

Warragul Community Garden volunteers will host an 'Australia's Biggest Morning Tea' event at the garden next Tuesday, May 27, to support the Cancer Council.
The event starts at 11am. Community members are welcome to just turn up on the day, enjoy some morning tea treats, as well as trivia and games for those who are interested, and also the chance to acquire some plant cuttings and meet other people, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Council.
The garden is located at Eastern Park, off Cambridge Drive, Warragul.
The garden is grateful for the support of several community enterprises and Baw Baw Shire for grant funding recently, which has enabled the team to renovate the rental garden beds and the compost areas, with support of the Warragul Lions Club.
The team also is excited about the arrival and construction of a new greenhouse, made possible with funding from the Warragul Garden Club. The Warragul Country Club have also supported the garden by assisting with funding to purchase a shade cloth kit.
The morning tea, held primarily to support Cancer Council fundraising for research and training, also is a celebration of community generosity.
Everyone knows people whose lives have been touched in some way by cancer, perhaps with their own lived experience, or by supporting a friend or family member undergoing treatment. The community garden also touches the lives of a great many people: from volunteers; those who simply choose to enjoy a quiet walk through on a sunny day; or who walk past with their dog; to families who drop in to gather some salad leaves, herbs or vegetables fresh from the garden.
