The coveted Gippsland Business of the Year award will be awarded to a winner from one of the 12 categories.
The finalists will be honoured at breakfast event on August 1 and winners will be announced at a grand gala presentation at Federation University Churchill on August 27.
Awards committee chair Graeme Sennett said the high standard of entries this year made it difficult to select the finalists.
"This is the 27th year of the Gippsland Business Awards and we are always amazed at the diverse entries – businesses that are the heart of their communities," Mr Sennett said. "The judging process was once again challenging due to the high standard."
"It is important we recognised all those excellent entrants who did not make it to the finals. They embody a robust and expanding business community in Gippsland, and we strongly encourage them to participate again in the future," he said.
