Two people captured on CCTV allegedly walking in a residential street and attempting to steal from multiple vehicles were left empty handed.
Police praised households in Tassel Drv, Warragul for securing their vehicles.
"Offenders were seen walking up driveways and trying door handles," Warragul acting senior sergeant Kristin Hodges reported. "Fortunately, vehicles were locked and offenders were unsuccessful."
The man and woman were captured on CCTV on Saturday at about 12.45am.
In a separate incident, personal documents were amongst items reported stolen from a van parked at Warragul Railway Station during the weekend.
Police said it was unknown how entry was gained to the white Great Wall van via its sliding door. It had been parked at the Alfred St carpark between 11.30am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday.
A power tool, passport and birth certificate were reported stolen.
