Community spirit celebrated at Tetoora Rd
1 min read

Tetoora Road's 11th annual community day was held on August 25 with residents coming together to celebrate the district's community spirit.
Local resident Bob and friend Rob trimmed the four apple trees that were planted in 2017, showing how pruning should be done.
A small group of people, including adults and children planted 60 plants sponsored by Mt Worth and District Landcare Group, on the steep area and staked and guarded them from rabbits and wombats.
There was a hot lunch for 20 volunteers, provided by the committee, with a choice of soups, hot dogs in rolls and sausage rolls and party pies followed by ice-cream in a cone or fruit.
After lunch, three plaques were placed in garden areas, one identifying the tree planted for the centenary (Kurrajong) and the other for the tree donated by the shire (Sticky Wattle).
The third plaque referenced the shire's Place Making Program which funded the play and gym equipment and the concrete path.
Community members then listened and interacted with the winter fire safety talk from Trida CFA volunteers Peter and Julie, complete with demo stove pot and a trial of the fire safety blanket.
Warragul Specialist School students attended on August 19 and helped tidy the tennis court areas as well as collecting up branches and planting 20 shrubs in the flat areas.
