Year seven students at St Paul's Anglican Grammar School have taken a creative approach to mathematics, designing mathematical mandalas as part of a recent 'Maths in Motion' lesson.
Teachers delivered the lesson to encourage students to explore mathematical concepts like symmetry, geometry and patterns through hands-on, visual design.
Using chalk, string, protractors and rulers, and utilising the basketball courts as their canvas, students were able to see maths as more than just numbers.
By activating both body and mind, the task supported the teachers' holistic view of learning, allowing students to engage with maths in a way that felt meaningful and personal.
