It was a lucky escape when a car crashed into Centrepoint Arcade in Warragul at lunchtime last Wednesday.
Despite accelerating over a pedestrian crossing, no pedestrians were injured. The driver, an 84-year-old woman, was taken to hospital to be checked.
Police said the red Holden Barina was attempting to pull into a Williams Square carpark at 12.06pm when it accelerated, driving across the pedestrian crossing in Williams St and crashing into the exterior of EB Games. It narrowly avoided the arcade entrance and nearby.
Police said the vehicle was towed away with extensive damage. The exterior of the building also was damaged.
Ambulance Victoria paramedics transported the driver to West Gippsland Hospital. Police reported she sustained no obvious injuries.
