Four Hawks teams finals bound

Drouin were winners in three matches against the Parrots, with B grade scoring an upset win over the ladder leaders.
The Hawks now go into finals with four teams in contention.

Drouin knew coming into the match it would be a hard fought game with Leongatha finding good form in the second half of their season.
Drouin's defenders were phenomenal once again, breaking down the Parrots attack, being awarded many gains and intercepts. In the first half, the Hawks struggled to capitalise on their extra possessions however, as Drouin worked into the game the goals began to accumulate.

The Hawks produced an amazing team performance to overcome a very strong Leongatha outfit in a thrilling contest.
Brooke de Riter, Karina Healy and Cleo Traumanis were on fire in the goal ring, combining superbly to convert opportunities and keep the scoreboard ticking over. Fiona Nalder and Jas Gallasch created space beautifully through their speed, movement and smart ball work, giving the attack plenty of options.
In wing defence, Lulu Lightowler and Alice McKellar shared the load brilliantly. Both worked tirelessly to shut down Leongatha's feed and came away with clean intercepts all over the court.
At the defensive end, Chelsea deRiter and Sarah Roughead were dominant in the ring, winning crucial rebounds and putting enormous pressure on the opposition attack.
It was another outstanding team performance from the Hawks, who continue to build momentum as the season reaches its business end.

C grade: Leongatha 21 def Drouin 20
It was a high intensity game, with Drouin's defensive pressure setting the tone across all four quarters.
The defensive players are proving to be unstoppable, with Jess Murray, Niki Bryce and Ali Mac each turning over plenty of ball. Their ability to read the play, anticipate their opponents and work together made them a formidable force across the court.
The Hawks know they can match it with any side, it's now bringing composure and intent to finish the job which will be key to their finals success.

17 and under: Drouin 37 def Leongatha 23
Finding their rhythm in the second half, the 17s finished with a strong 14 goal win. A fantastic defensive effort from the Hawks, with their defenders working tirelessly all game creating some amazing turnovers, combining with Drouin's attackers who showed great versatility.
Now the 17s turn their attention to Sunday's elimination final against Sale on their home court. They will take confidence into the game knowing that on an even playing field, their hard work and determination will make them a formidable opponent.

15 and under: Leongatha 48 def Drouin 17
The girls closed out their season with a fun final game, mixing up positions and enjoying themselves on court. It was a great way to finish the year and celebrate just how much this group had grown, not only as individual players and a team, but as a group of friends. Their positivity, willingness to learn and support for each other has been a real highlight of the season.

13 and under: Leongatha 26 def Drouin 21
The under 13s played their final game in a close and competitive match. Drouin went into half time with a one goal lead after a strong first half, but went down by five goals at full time.
The girls worked hard throughout the game, showed good teamwork and support of each other.
